Deadline announced today that Bodies of Water, my second feature in development, has been named a 2024 Stowe Story Labs Launch Fellow, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Launch Fellowship is a meaningful program for projects in development because it caters to the films's specific needs. The year-long mentorship, script development and pitching practice offers the kind of infrastructure that is difficult for independent filmmakers to get access to.

Bodies of Water is a Mediterranean thriller about migration, memory, and fishing communities caught between generations. It's a story I've been carrying for a while, and this fellowship is going to shape it in ways I can already feel.

Grateful to Stowe Story Labs for the invitation, to the NEA for continuing to invest in independent artists, and to everyone at Stowe who makes this program what it is. More on Bodies of Water as it develops — this site is where I'll be documenting the journey.
